We are a small refill store in the heart of Pangbourne providing a wide range of unpackaged food such as pasta, rice, grains, cereals, nuts and seeds, herbs and spices, loose teas and coffee ground while you wait.
Bring along your own tubs and containers and fill them with delicious goods to take back for your kitchen cupboards and top up your kitchen, utility and bathroom cleaners with our range of household cleaning liquids.
Shopping in this way means we can all help reduce the impact we are having on the environment by reducing the amount of plastic that has become part of our everyday lives. Many of our customers are surprised about how low cost it is to buy like this too. You can choose to buy little and often or fill up your larger containers to stock your store cupboard.
If you have forgotten your containers, or just decide to drop in on the spur of the moment, we can bag your loose goods in our paper bags and we have a selection of bottles and containers to purchase for your household cleaners.
Opening Hours
The Loose Larder is open 9.30am – 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
If we are closed, pop into our sister shop, Cheese Etc, just along the road and one of the team will be happy to open The Loose Larder for you.

The Loose Larder is the sister shop to Cheese Etc, The Pangbourne Cheese Shop.
Owners Ali & Jen had been looking for more space for storage, a workshop kitchen and to create a cheese tasting room, and were delighted to find a building practically next door.

We are reducing the food carbon footprint
All the products we have in The Loose Larder are available to order online for home delivery to these local postcodes RG1, RG4 (5,7,8,9), RG7 (4,5,6,7), RG8, RG14, RG18, RG19, RG20 (8), RG30 and RG31. There is a minimum purchase of £10 to qualify for our free flexi delivery service and if you order by a Monday night we deliver the same week.
Deliveries are usually made on a Wednesday or Thursday. If you are not going to be in on a delivery day please leave a box outside your door for us to pop your goods in. We will drop you a text or leave you a message to let you know we’ve been. If you are super organised, please drop off your empty containers to The Loose Larder or Cheese Etc in advance, otherwise your goods will be delivered in recyclable paper bags. Unfortunately you cannot order our household liquids via the website at the moment, but we can supply them, so please call or email for information
