Currants have been used in various culinary dishes for centuries. They were originally imported from the Mediterranean as sweet luxury goods long before cane sugar became available.
Our organic currants are made using tiny dried seedless grapes, that are naturally dried for up to three weeks. They have a sweet, tangy intense flavour, adding texture and sweetness to both sweet and savoury dishes.
Currants are smaller than raisins and sultanas, and excellent for adding sweetness and texture to salads, pairing well with greens and crunchy nuts. They are great used in curries, chutneys, or couscous for example due to their small size.
