Soybean, soy bean, soya beans…they are all the same thing! They have a mild, nutty flavour and are one of the few food products which is eaten all around world.
Dried soya beans are a complete protein meaning they contain all 8 essential amino acids. They are also a good source of fibre and other nutrients. As such they are a key part of vegetarian and vegan diets. Often used in curries, soybean burgers, ragu sauce or added to vegetable soup.
Dried soya beans need to be soaked overnight for 10 to 12 hours, then cooked for 3 to 4 hours before adding to recipes.
