Basil is one of the most popular Italian herbs. It is also known as Great Basil which we think is highly appropriate for this wonderful herb. Dried basil is often more flavoursome than the fresh option. Dried basil can be mintier and less aniseed flavoured. If cooking with dried Basil we recommend you add it nearer the beginning of your recipe as this allows more time for the wonderful flavours to penetrate through your dish.
