Cinnamon quills can be used in broths, teas, soups, stews and curries. Why not try using a whole cinnamon stick as a fancy stirrer for your cocktails or add a small piece to any drink.
Cinnamon Quills are also known as Cinnamon Sticks. Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. They are made by rolling the bark which is then cut into 7-8cm quills. Cinnamon Quills have a sweet spicy flavour and are a key ingredient in many desserts and Asian dishes. They add a fragrant aroma as well as boosting the taste of any dish. They go particularly well with chicken and lamb dishes. Try adding one to rice as it cooks for a wonderful blend of flavours.
We love to use a cinnamon quill to stir hot chocolate. This allows the cinnamon to infuse the drink without over-powering the taste.
