Nigella seeds are used to spice a lot of Indian and African dishes. Their slight crunch makes them a fabulous addition when making bread and pastries
Nigella seeds come from the Nigella sativa plant. The plant itself has delicate flowers which are usually pale blue or white. The seeds are found within the plant’s fruit and are also known as black caraway or black cumin. The seeds have been used in culinary dishes for centuries, some were even found in Tutankhamun’s tomb! Rest assured that ours haven’t been around that long!
These seeds have a slightly bitter taste and can have an oniony aroma. If you dry roast the seeds before using them, their flavours become even more intense. They are often used to jazz up rice and vegetable dishes. We love to add them to salad dressing.
Ingredients: 100% Nigella Seeds
