The high-starch kernels of white arborio rice are shorter and plumper than any other short-grain rice.
White Arborio Rice is a short grain rice which comes from northern Italy. When cooked the grains become very creamy and as such it is traditionally used in risottos. It is also the rice that is used in rice pudding.
When cooking it is best to gradually add stock or water to your rice, adding more as it is absorbed. The rice will be fully cooked in 20 minutes.
We love to add a splash of white wine to the rice whilst it is cooking and serve with Parmigiano Reggiano from our sister shop, Cheese Etc.
