Lasagne sheets are a type of wide, flat pasta. They are an integral part of the traditional Italian dish, lasagna.
Lasagne Sheets are one of the oldest types of pasta. The Italians have been making lasagna since the Middle Ages. Ours are the traditional flat style, favoured in Italy. Here in the UK there is evidence of lasagna being made for the court of King Richard II in the 14th Century. Indeed a recipe for lasagna was included in the first ever cookbook in England. Lasagne sheets do not need to be pre-cooked, simply stack layers of filling and lasagne and bake in the oven.
We love the Napoli version of lasagna where local sausages and meatballs are included in the layers between the lasagne sheets.
